FAQs

Your Questions, Answered

Here are a few of the questions we’re most often asked to help you plan your visit to the Grantley Arms. Whether you’re joining us for lunch, dinner, or simply a drink by the fire, you’ll find the key details below.

For anything more, we’re just a call or email away. You can contact us via email at hello@grantleyarms.co.uk or call us on +44 1765 699946.

Are dogs permitted?

Yes, well-behaved dogs are warmly welcomed throughout the bar, terrace, and garden. We’re happy to offer a little treat to our four-legged friends as well.

Is the venue family-friendly?

Yes, we’re proud to be a family-friendly pub with plenty of space and a relaxed atmosphere, perfect for children joining you for a meal or a casual visit.

Is there a dress code?

We’re delighted to extend a warm Yorkshire welcome to everyone! From muddy boots to your Sunday best, you’ll always feel right at home with us.

Do I need to book a table?

Walk-ins are always welcome, though we recommend booking a table for lunch or dinner, especially on weekends or for larger groups, to ensure your table is ready and waiting.

If you’re visiting between meals, our light bites menu is available Thursday to Saturday from 14:30 to 17:00, with no reservation needed.

There’s no need to book if you’re just joining us for drinks - simply walk in, take a seat, and relax, whether you're after a perfectly poured pint, a glass of wine by the fire, or a refreshing cocktail on the terrace.

Do you accommodate dietary requirements?

Yes, we offer vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options on menus at the Grantley Arms. If you have any dietary requirements or allergies, please notify us when booking so we can do our best to accommodate you.

Please note that our kitchen handles all major allergens, and while we take great care, we may not be able to cater for complex dietary requirements or guarantee the absence of cross-contamination.

What time do you serve Sunday roasts?

Our Sunday roasts are available all day on Sundays from 12:00 to 18:00. We do recommend booking ahead to avoid disappointment as our Sunday lunches are a must-try: think tender, slow-cooked meats, golden Yorkshire puddings, crispy roast potatoes, creamy cauliflower cheese, and fresh, seasonal veg, all generously drenched in rich, homemade gravy.

Can I celebrate a birthday or other special occasion at Grantley Arms?

We welcome you and your guests to join us in celebrating special occasions at the Grantley Arms. Groups of up to 12 guests can dine in our main dining area.

Grantley Arms can also be hired exclusively. To discuss an exclusive booking, please contact hello@grantleyarms.co.uk.

Is the Grantley Arms connected to Grantley Hall?

The Grantley Arms is proudly part of the Grantley Hall family, owned by the Sykes family. While Grantley Hall offers a grand estate experience with fine dining and five-star facilities, the Grantley Arms provides a more relaxed, traditional country pub-style setting. Each has its own character, but both share a commitment to doing things properly and making every guest feel welcome.

Do you offer private dining?

At the Grantley Arms, we currently do not have the capacity to accommodate private dining due to space limitations. However, we invite you to explore the options available at our sister hotel, Grantley Hall, which is conveniently located just a short drive away. Grantley Hall offers a diverse range of choices for private dining and events. For more information, please click here.

Do you offer accommodation?

We don't offer accommodation as our focus is firmly on great food, good company, and keeping the drinks flowing. If you're looking for somewhere to rest your head after a visit, Grantley Hall is just up the road. For more information, please click here.

What is the cancellation policy?

For groups of up to 6 people, no credit card details are necessary; simply notify us of any changes. There are no fees for no-shows or cancellations.

For groups of 7 or more, if you cancel less than 48 hours before the reservation or do not show up, a £10 per person cancellation fee will be applied to your booking.
